Eileen Morgan Award for Customer Service
The 2025 Eileen Morgan Award is presented to Alicia C. Alicia, Operations Supervisor, was nominated for her consistency in delivering exceptional service in every interaction. Whether she’s supporting clients, caregivers, PSWs, or colleagues, Alicia is widely known for her kindness, empathy, and action-oriented approach.
Recently, Alicia played a pivotal role in the implementation of RingCentral, a new cloud-based phone system that enables extensive benefits for staff and clients, including quicker response times.
“This new platform impacted her team significantly, and it is evident how much time and effort she put into supporting her team throughout this implementation,” explained Dara, VP of Quality, Strategic Partnerships, and Communications,” in her nomination.
Beyond implementation, Alicia was instrumental in taking RingCentral data and translating it into valuable insights for her team so they could optimize resources and better understand their role in supporting clients. Her collaborative approach and willingness to share feedback openly and constructively have strengthened her department and Circle of Care as a whole.
About the Award
Eileen Morgan began her career at Circle of Care in 1984 as a Home Service Worker. She excelled in her role by being patient, understanding and a good listener. Eileen never turned down an assignment, and her clients always came first. In 1997, in recognition of her outstanding performance, Eileen was promoted to Team Assistant, working out of the office at 530 Wilson Avenue. Eileen was then promoted once more in 2007 to a Coordinator. Eileen always focused on customer service and going above and beyond the call of duty. When Eileen passed away in 2009, Circle of Care decided to honour her memory by creating an award that exemplifies customer service.
The Eileen Morgan Award is presented to a staff member (non-PSW/Homemaker) who exemplifies customer service. This award supports our values of community, respect, excellence, and dignity. In their role, this person furthers Circle of Care’s mission to provide exceptional, innovative care so people can stay independent, connected and safe in their homes and communities.
Yvonne Greaves Award for PSW Leadership
The 2025 Yvonne Greaves Award is presented to Cecilia K. Cecilia, a Program Assistant at our Adult Day Program, was nominated for this award by two different people. Both nominators shared that Cecilia’s leadership shines in her daily work at the Adult Day Program, where she helps create a safe, welcoming, and uplifting environment for more than 60 clients each day who are living with dementia or are frail and elderly. Her calm presence, compassion, and professionalism help foster trust and comfort for clients and inspire confidence among her colleagues.
“From the moment clients walk through our doors, Cecilia sets the tone for a safe, inclusive, and uplifting environment,” Patricia, Manager of Social Work, ADP, Hospice & Bereavement, wrote in her nomination. “Cecilia’s calm presence, patience, and genuine respect for each individual allow clients to feel valued and dignified.”
Cecilia is also a dedicated mentor, supporting new Program Assistants and students with patience and professionalism. She is known for stepping forward during challenging situations, including adjusting her own plans during staffing shortages to ensure clients continue to receive high-quality care.
“Cecilia exemplifies Circle of Care values more than anyone I know,” shared Madeline, Supervisor of the Adult Day Program, in her nomination. “Our employees are excellent, but Cecilia is in a class of her own, a rare breed of staff who always puts her clients and their family members first.”
From providing personal care to assisting with kitchen operations, Cecilia balances multiple responsibilities seamlessly. She also looks beyond her daily tasks, proactively identifying needs and offering solutions that strengthen the Adult Day Program for everyone.
About the Award
Yvonne worked for Circle of Care for 37 years as a beloved PSW. She was adored and respected by her clients and her peers, serving as Chief Union Steward and a member of our Joint Health and Safety Committee. She held high standards for care and compassion, serving as a role model for a generation of PSWs. Being a proud PSW was a core part of Yvonne’s identity. Yvonne once said: “People think PSWs are just men and women that go in and do a little bit of chores. It isn’t so, especially with more complex care patients coming into the community. We feed them, change them, make sure they are comfortable, remind them of their medications. I love people. I’m really, truly a people person. I go in professionally with a kind heart, ready to serve, even if it’s for one day.”
The Yvonne Greaves Award is given to a Personal Support Worker who displays leadership in their role. They are someone that their peers can look up to as a role model. They are willing to contribute to the success of the organization by going above and beyond, which could include being an excellent Preceptor, or a fantastic contributing member to a committee or project. No matter what they do, this person is always willing to go the extra mile at work.
Circle of Care Award for Home Care Excellence
The 2025 Circle of Care Award for Home Care Excellence is presented to Maria C. Maria, a Personal Support Worker in the community, was nominated for her compassionate, personalized care.
“Maria ensures every client receives dignified care tailored to their individual needs,” explained Teresa, Manager of Learning & Development, in her nomination. “When she identifies potential risks or safety concerns, she promptly reports them, demonstrating her proactive approach to client safety. Her professionalism and reliability mean that clients and their families can trust they will receive consistently high-quality care.”
Maria’s impact extends far beyond her daily responsibilities as a PSW. Despite her demanding care duties, she has voluntarily taken on three significant additional roles that strengthen our entire team and workplace: as a Union Steward, she advocates for fairness and supports her colleagues; as a PSW Preceptor, she mentors new staff and generously shares her knowledge and experience; and as a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee, she actively contributes to workplace improvements that benefit everyone.
Maria’s dedication, expertise, and willingness to go above and beyond make her an exceptional role model for her peers and a true champion of home care excellence.
