Celebrating the Contributions of our Employees

Learn more about our Champions of Care employee recognition program.

The Champions of Care employee recognition program is designed to recognize Circle of Care employees who go above and beyond their day-to-day duties, and/or who exemplify one or more of our values.

Nominations can be submitted in one of two ways:

  • Clients, Families & Community Members: Nominations from clients, family members, or members of the community can be submitted via our online nomination form during the nomination period (March 1 – April 30).
  • Employees: A manager or colleague can recognize someone for one of the following reasons:
  1. Recognizing that a peer has taken initiative to support, assist or lead a project or difficult task.
  2. The employee has made an extra effort was reflected in their overall performance.
  3. The person has actively demonstrated one or more of Circle of Care’s values.

All employees are eligible to participate in the program, with the exception of the senior leadership team. Human Resources will review nominations to ensure eligibility. Circle of Care reserves the right to determine which nominations to publish at any time, and reserves the right to make changes to this program as it deems necessary.

Now Accepting Champions of Care Nominations!

The Champions of Care Awards are announced each year in June. Nominations are open from March 1 until April 30, 2026.
You can submit nominations for as many employees as you would like who you feel have gone above and beyond in their roles and who embody one or more of our organization values of community, respect, excellence, and dignity. Please submit separate nominations for each employee.
Nomination Criteria
Nominations will be shortlisted based on the following criteria:
  • The nomination clearly explains why this person deserves to win — not just because they’re good at their job, but because they go above and beyond.
  • It includes clear, specific examples that describe what happened, what the person did, and the real difference their actions made.
  • The person shows initiative and leadership. They step up when there’s a challenge, look for better ways of doing things, and help move important goals forward.
  • Their actions reflect what it truly means to be a Champion of Care: they build strong relationships, treat people with respect and cultural understanding, strive for excellence, and honour the dignity and independence of clients, families, and coworkers.
  • This isn’t a one-time effort. They consistently perform at an exceptional level, and not recognizing them would mean overlooking someone truly outstanding.
