Purim Celebrations at Circle of Care’s Adult Day Program
Clients at Circle of Care’s Day Centre for Seniors with Alzheimer’s & Dementia were happy to roll up their sleeves this week to prepare delicious Hamantashen – a traditional pastry enjoyed during the Jewish holiday of Purim.
Children in costume also stopped by to spread good cheer and pass out gifts of food (mishloach manot).
“We had a really wonderful day,” said Catherine Timm, the program’s recreationist. “The centre was full of the delicious aroma of freshly-baked Hamantashen, the joyous music from our visiting musician, and laughter from our adorable young visitors. For our clients, these small gestures go such a long way. Everyone went home with smiles on their faces!”
