In the fall of 2023, we launched an Ambassadors Program, which consists of a team of dedicated and highly knowledgeable Circle of Care staff who go out into the community to raise awareness of our many programs and services.

Armed with comprehensive information about how Circle of Care can support older adults and their caregivers, our Ambassadors have attended seven events in the Fall 2023 and Winter 2024 (e.g. local fairs, seniors events) setting up booths, handing out informational materials, and talking to members of the community about our programs and services.

“Being an Ambassador has allowed me to meet people – face to face – in their community, and that’s crucial because our business is relationships,” says Lana, Volunteer Coordinator and one of the Ambassadors. “This way, I talk to people and report back on different perspectives and needs we maybe haven’t considered. Participating has also been a perfect way to educate people on what we do. They are pleasantly surprised to learn of the full range of what we have to offer.”

This type of outreach is also incredibly important for purposes of establishing working relationships and potential partnerships with other community-based organizations.

“I love being part of the Ambassador program!” says Maria, a Social Worker and Care Navigator at Circle of Care who is also one of our Ambassadors. ”There are still people who are unaware of our services or need help navigating the healthcare system. It’s also very important to make connections with other health care professionals and inform them about the great work that we do. Since participating in the Ambassador program, I have been getting more requests for referrals and consults, and have also learned of new resources that I can refer my clients to.”

The enthusiasm shown by Circle of Care staff for the program has been tremendous, with over 15 representatives from various departments joining the team and eager to connect with local communities.

“One of the nicest parts of these events is when people come to our booth eager to share a story of a loved one who received help from Circle of Care,” adds Lana. “They are grateful and it so affirming to know the difference Circle of Care is making – for our clients and their families. Being there – in a time of need, in a moment of gratitude – that’s what it is all about for me.”
