Eileen Morgan Award for Customer Service

Aniko H

Aniko is the 2024 winner of the Eileen Morgan Award for Customer Service.

The Eileen Morgan Award for Customer Service is presented to Aniko H.! Aniko, a Service Coordinator, was nominated by Alicia P. for her exceptional ability to balance the diverse needs of clients and Personal Support Workers (PSWs). Her remarkable customer service and dedication to excellence have earned her this well-deserved recognition.

Aniko knows her clients so well that they often refer to her as the go-to person for their needs, saying, “Aniko knows exactly what to do.” Her ability to foster positive relationships is evident in the mutual support she shares with her PSWs, who frequently go above and beyond to assist her.

Whether it’s coordinating care for a complex client or providing clear and compassionate communication, Aniko’s efforts ensure that her clients can live safely and confidently at home. Her impact is felt deeply by the community, and we are honoured to recognize her remarkable contributions.

About the Award

Eileen Morgan began her career at Circle of Care in 1984 as a Home Service Worker. She excelled in her role by being patient, understanding and a good listener. Eileen never turned down an assignment and her clients always came first.  In 1997, in recognition of her outstanding performance, Eileen was promoted to Team Assistant, working out of the office at 530 Wilson Avenue. Eileen was then promoted once more in 2007 to a Coordinator. Eileen always focused on customer service and going above and beyond the call of duty. When Eileen passed away in 2009, Circle of Care decided to honour her memory by creating an award that exemplifies customer service.

The Eileen Morgan Award is presented to a staff member (non-PSW/Homemaker) who exemplifies customer service. This award supports our values of community, respect, excellence, and dignity. In their role, this person furthers Circle of Care’s mission to provide exceptional, innovative care so people can stay independent, connected and safe in their homes and communities.

Yvonne Greaves Award for PSW Leadership

The Yvonne Greaves Award for PSW Leadership is presented to Natoya C.! Natoya, a Preceptor and Personal Support Worker at Circle of Care, was nominated by Michelle D. for her leadership and commitment to mentoring new PSWs and improving the organization. With over 11 years of experience, Natoya consistently goes above and beyond to share her insights and ideas for enhancing client care and organizational processes.

Earlier this year, during a filmed preceptor visit with a new hire, Natoya’s patience, confidence, and expertise shone through. She not only coached the new hire but also shared invaluable suggestions, including the addition of a comprehensive program and service list to our welcome booklet—a change that has since been implemented. Her advocacy for a scope of duties brochure has also helped manage client expectations and support PSWs in their roles.

Natoya’s willingness to take initiative and provide thoughtful feedback has made a lasting impact on Circle of Care. Her leadership and dedication to excellence make her a worthy recipient of the Yvonne Greaves Award.

About the Award

Yvonne worked for Circle of Care for 37 years as a beloved PSW. She was adored and respected by her clients and her peers, serving as Chief Union Steward and a member of our Joint Health and Safety Committee. She held high standards for care and compassion, serving as a role model for a generation of PSWs. Being a proud PSW was a core part of Yvonne’s identity. Yvonne once said: “People think PSWs are just men and women that go in and do a little bit of chores. It isn’t so, especially with more complex care patients coming into the community. We feed them, change them, make sure they are comfortable, remind them of their medications. I love people. I’m really, truly a people person. I go in professionally with a kind heart, ready to serve, even if it’s for one day.”

The Yvonne Greaves Award is given to a Personal Support Worker who displays leadership in their role. They are someone that their peers can look up to as a role model. They are willing to contribute to the success of the organization by going above and beyond, which could include being an excellent Preceptor, or a fantastic contributing member to a committee or project. No matter what they do, this person is always willing to go the extra mile at work.
